Waking up bright and early never gets easy but when you know a beautiful wedding that you helped make possible is ahead of you, it makes it so much easier. As a Day Of Wedding Coordinator, getting ready for the day consists of checklists, checklists, and more checklists. “What do I need to pack?” “What am I missing?” The “what if” questions you ask yourself never end. But this is only the beginning.
We Fill Up As We Go.. If We are Energized then so are Our Couples
As a Day Of Wedding Coordinator, you start the day off preparing yourself for the rest of the day, physically and mentally. so, we pack our snacks to keep our energy up. We make sure we have our own emergency kits filled with safety pins, glue, and anything else you could think of. Water, energy bars, fruit, and protein-filled snacks fill up our bags. Along with everything else the bride and groom need and want to make their day perfect.
Communication is KEY!
First of all, we get to the wedding venue and you get the timelines ready for all the vendors. We are prepared with fully charged phones and walkie talkies on our hip. Communication is one of the most important parts of the day as a Day Of Wedding Coordinator. Without proper communications skills, everyone involved in the wedding wouldn’t be able to make the day run as smoothly as possible.
We have the responsibility of making sure the Bride and Groom are where they need to be at all times. We escort them to photos, to hair and makeup, to the ceremony site, and to the beautiful reception. All of these events occur according the timeline we have run over tens of times. Making sure the Bride and Groom are where they’re supposed to be is only a fraction of what our job consists of. In addition, we have to assist other vendors in making sure they’re successful as well. Helping set up the different spaces and making sure every detail looks flawless. Furthermore, making the guests feel welcomed and accommodated.
The Rest Is All Magic.
Yes, a day in the life sounds so magical with so much love and with so many beautiful things to see. However, it’s not all smooth sailing, and that’s just being honest. The Day Of Wedding Coordinator faces minor and major bumps in the road as we move along the day. Hence, being in our position, we must be quick and think on our toes but in a way where we are the only ones . We have faced from a seating chart mix up to a missing guest. So, the trick to being a successful Day Of Coordinator is staying calm, finding a solution, and simply moving on.
Consequently, we run all over the place, we communicate with everyone. In addition to that, we keep a smile on our face (even through the tough stuff) but it is all worth it! To know we are a part of someones’ most important days of their lives is a joy that is so fulfilling. Most of all, we take pride in creating successful and happy weddings all around Southern California.
