Some things to consider before you embark upon this new journey of finding out what really is a perfect diamond engagement ring? Is it the size? Clarity? What is this 4 C’s everyone seems to be talking about? How can I make a decision on something that I will be wearing the rest of my life? These are some questions that are probably just going through your head over and over again and you just can’t seem to figure out where to begin.

Here are some basic tips I have come up with to bring you closer to your perfect ring!
1. It is very important to find out which cut you can’t look at without cringing. Use the good ol’ process of elimination.

2. Find out your engagement ring price range and stick to it. This is when it can get tempting to drift towards “there-is-no-harm-in-trying-it-on” section of the store.

3. Now the 4 C’s in an engagement ring that everyone seems to talk about. Carat. Color. Clarity. Cut.

Carat measures a Diamond’s apparent size.

Color evaluation of most gem-quality diamonds is based on the absence of color. A chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond has no hue.

Clarity refers to the absence of inclusions and blemishes.

Cut grade of diamonds is really based on how well a diamond’s facets interact with light.

So now that you briefly know about the 4 C’s it is for you to decide what holds most importance to you. For example, if size is what really matters to you then you may give that the most priority and move down on the gradience with other C’s of course based on your budget.

4. How important is it for you to wear a Tiffany & Co. Ring or Cartier Ring? If it holds high priority than get ready to dish out big bucks. Fun Fact: Tiffany & Co. claims to have their own gradient policy, which means the gradient they claim may not even be aligned with the more widely accepted gradient companies. Although, if that little blue box is going to sweep you off your feet then that is something to add to your priority list.

5. Most important advise of all. Here it comes, after coming up with a priority list and then walking into a diamond store you may just fall in love with an engagement ring you had never imagined you would, then THAT IS THE ONE. Not everyone one is lucky enough to encounter such experience. If you have then congratulations.
