This day that we have been anxiously awaiting— The Royal Wedding is finally upon us. Britain’s Prince Harry and America’s Meghan Markle are now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Queen Elizabeth is hosting a lunch reception at Windsor Castle for about 600 guests. More than 100,000 people are estimated to have lined the wedding procession route.
The Royal Wedding Dress:
British Designer, Clare Waight Keller designed Meghan Markle’s wedding dress. Keller being the first female aritistic director at the French fashion house Givenchy. Fashion house Givenchy tweeted the inspiration for the royal wedding dress was “inspired by all 12 signs of the Zodiac, the Zodiac Signs collection features artisanally carved rings and earrings to convey the wearer’s character.”
The Royal Wedding Guest List:
Oprah Winfrey arrived, so did Elton John, George and Amal Clooney, and many many more. Also of course the Queen, Meghan’s mother, and Duchess of Cambridge did not fail to steal the show.
The Royal Wedding Ceremony:
It was a long morning of anticipation, nervousness and expectation. Weddings are always fraught, even if they are not your own, and especially when they are as public and imbued with metaphor and meaning as this one.
Ms. Markle, who in a span of an hour was transformed from a Ms. to Duchess, successfully made her way down the aisle to meet her very-soon-to-be husband, Prince Harry.
They both looked so happy, and so relaxed. They were beaming as they said their vows, and luckily, no one came forward to provide any reason that they might not be married. (This is always an exciting moment in a ceremony.)
