Across multiple days, guests experienced vibrant pre-wedding festivities, intimate family rituals, and a timeless Anand Karaj ceremony before celebrating late into the evening surrounded by those they love most.
From colorful floral embroidery to understated ceremony styling and elegant evening details, every design decision reflected the couple’s personalities rather than following trends.
The Jaggo is one of the most energetic Punjabi wedding traditions. Family and friends gather together carrying decorated pots while singing traditional songs and dancing through the celebration to announce that the wedding festivities have officially begun.
For Tavneet and Balky, their Jaggo blended colorful Punjabi traditions with a modern California setting, creating an unforgettable evening filled with music, laughter, and generations celebrating together.
The Maiyan ceremony is one of the most meaningful Sikh wedding traditions. Family members bless the couple by applying a turmeric-based paste that symbolizes purification, prosperity, and new beginnings before marriage.
For Tavneet and Balky, this ceremony remained intentionally intimate, allowing the focus to stay on family, laughter, and meaningful traditions rather than elaborate décor.
The heart of Tavneet and Balky’s wedding weekend was their Anand Karaj, the traditional Sikh wedding ceremony that celebrates the spiritual union of two people through faith, equality, and shared purpose. Held beneath the trees at Calamigos Ranch, the ceremony honored timeless Sikh traditions while reflecting the couple’s calm, understated style.
As family and friends gathered, Tavneet and Balky completed The Four Lavaan, walking together around the Guru Granth Sahib as sacred hymns were sung. Each round represents a new stage of marriage, symbolizing commitment, spiritual growth, and building a life together with love and humility.
Rather than allowing elaborate décor to overshadow the ceremony, we intentionally embraced a refined design that kept the focus on what mattered most—the significance of the Anand Karaj itself and the beginning of the couple’s next chapter.
Following the morning Anand Karaj, guests transitioned into an elegant evening reception where timeless black tie styling met vibrant Punjabi celebration.
Deep red florals, candlelight, and elevated dining created an atmosphere that felt intimate while still embracing the joyful energy South Asian weddings are known for.
